THE MESURA SIZE GUIDE

How to compare sizes across brands.

Compare the measurement, not just the label.

A medium in one brand may use a different size range in another. Start with the chart for an item you already own, then compare the same measurement and sizing system in the new chart.

Which measurements should I compare?

A worked example

Suppose your favorite shirt’s size M covers a 38–40 inch chest. A new brand’s size L covers that same 38–40 inch chest. The overlapping ranges make L a candidate. This is an illustrative comparison, not a recommendation for a real brand.

Keep chart types consistent.

A flat garment width is not the same as a body circumference. Mesura’s chart comparison uses body measurements for clothes and foot length for shoes. Do not enter garment widths, insole lengths, or conversions between size labels as body measurements. Convert centimeters to inches by dividing by 2.54.

When to double-check a recommendation

If your saved items disagree, your measurements fall outside the new chart, or the brand uses a different fit or sizing system, a label comparison may not be enough. Read the retailer’s product-specific guidance and return policy. A size chart cannot account for every fabric, cut, or foot shape.
